Parking at Highgate House

Parking in Whitby

Whitby is an ancient seaport, and wasn’t designed for cars. The vast majority of properties in the town centre don’t have car parking facilities. It can be tricky to find a place, especially in summer as Whitby is such an attractive location for visitors on the North Yorkshire coast.

Please see below the various parking options available.

1. Park at the back of Highgate House

The easiest option is to park your car in the pay and display car park at the back of Highgate House on Back St Hilda’s Terrace – see satellite photos on the right. You can pay by cash or card at the machine. Current charges for Back St Hilda’s car park 7 days 9am to 6pm, 24 Hours is £9.00

You can also pay for the pay and display online at: www.myringgo.co.uk/parkinglocator?zone=4632

2. Park on street in W zone

Or if you’d prefer to park for free, use a complimentary scratch card that allows you to park in any area marked W – indicated in orange in the Scarborough Borough Council Parking map. You’ll need to call in to Highgate House to pick up your card from us. For permit parking look for the ‘W’ on the sign in areas marked orange on the map. If you don’t use the card, leave it in your room as we have to buy them from the council.

IMPORTANT: YOU MUST COMPLETE THE SCRATCH CARD EXACTLY AS THE INSTRUCTIONS

3. Use another of the pay and display car parks nearby

You can find a pay and display car park elsewhere in the town.
